Microlax is used for cleaning the rectum before examination. It should be taken about 2 hours before your visit. You bring up 2 micro salmon in the rectum, take both right after each other and squeeze for about 5 minutes. Read the package insert that comes with you when you buy microlax at your pharmacy.
To use microlax:
- Pull off the sleeve and twist off the cap on top of the bottle’s spout. Lubricate the spout with vaseline or by squeezing out a few drops of microlax.
- Lie on your left side with your left leg extended and your right leg bent forward for balance. Carefully insert the tip into the rectum and then slowly squeeze out the solution. If the liquid cannot be squeezed out of the bottle, it may be because the spout is against something. Then try to change the direction of the pipe. Continue to squeeze the bottle as you pull out the spout, to prevent the liquid from flowing back into the bottle.
- Then do the same procedure immediately after with bottle number two.
- Lie down and try to hold the solution in the intestine for about 5 minutes, so that the solution has time to work. Then visit the toilet.
